Bond, Pug Bond / Adobe Illustrator CC 2017

This piece is called Bond, Pug Bond. I made this piece during class on March 8, 2017. The elements that is most dominant in this piece is Color for the fact that I used the natural color of a Pug breeded dog, Shape for the fact that I used polygons to make up this entire piece, and Value for the lighting of the picture. I used my Wacom drawing tablet and Adobe Illustrator for the certain polygon style that is seen throughout this piece. The principles through my piece is balance for the fact that you can cut the piece in half and reflect it, it would be the same as the original. . The subject I used for this piece is a pug in a tiny tuxedo. I figured I would make a cute animal picture at least once while in the class I was taking when I made this, so I figured why not. When I look at this piece, I think of it being funny and cute. This piece reminds me of other artwork where they take animals and put them in human clothes or personify them into a society where there are autonomous beings. The qualities that I think work in this piece is the way the polygons are arranged in a certain way to give for to a bigger picture. Honestly I can't think of any work to compare this to. When it comes to people asking if this is good or bad, I don't think it is either. I like to think that if the artist is willing to present their work, that they are proud of what they have done. It may not be good to people seeing the art for the first time, but it's good enough for the artist.
